As a tribute to Kelly, and in keeping with her incredible giving spirit and desire to help others, we've coordinated with Dr. Blakeley to establish at Johns Hopkins the “Blakeley Neuro-Oncology Research Fund in Honor of Kelly Merriam.”

The idea is simple: instead of people trying to remember/honor Kelly with flowers or via donations to various charities, we thought Kelly would prefer that those funds be targeted and directed instead to support Dr. Blakeley’s ongoing brain cancer research, since it was Dr. Blakeley who helped Kelly so directly for the last and most difficult years of her illness.  We are 100% certain that Kelly would take much comfort knowing that her legacy would include directly helping others who continue to struggle with the same illness that ended her life.
